I'm sorry that I've to disappoint you but trackbacks from ther sites won't work unless you patch t3lib/class.t3lib_parsehtml.php

a patch comes with timtab in res/patches

greetings
Ingo

trackback does still not work because it seems that you forgot to include the "Blog Webservices" static template. Your site is not responding on type=200. Calling any page id with type=200 should display "XML-RPC server accepts POST requests only."

Michael Sokolar is running the first website with timtab I know of. Actually it's the second as mine is the first ;-)
Last week Gerald Fränkl contacted me asking whether it is possible to convert an ee_blog to timtab. Guess what, sure it is! With...

Is it possible to cache to gravatars? I think calling the gravatar page makes the pageload horrible slow...

#11: Thomas commented on Thursday, 08-09-05 09:00

Gravatar: Thomas

Good question... ;-) I have no idea. I think you should ask Ingo for this. But I changed the setup so that a blank image is shown if no gravatar was found on the server. This should speed up the page a lot. :-)

#12: Andreas commented on Thursday, 08-09-05 15:35

Looking really good here!! The only thing that I noticed is that you might want to edit your template to better include the avatar. But since there is a redesign is in the works, the effort is not necessary for this layout. :-)

Hallo Thomas,

Dieter

#23: Martin commented on Sunday, 18-09-05 14:49

Gravatar: Martin

It is nice to see it come along so well. The blog comments should be integrated better though. The picture is to high for both layouts. You could use PNGs with transparency... You don't need GIFs for that. OTH, IEx will not render those correctly without a hack.

Regards,
Martin

PS: Blog comments are numbered wrong... ?!?

#24: Thomas commented on Monday, 19-09-05 09:40

Gravatar: Thomas

Hi,
@Martin: PNG doens't work either. I have tested it. :-( The transparent areas in PNGs or GIFs are not transparent after passing through image magick!?
The gravatars will be replaced in the comments. I will see if I can change the numbering of the comments.

@Dieter: The colors are not finished. My plan is to give every section another color. So I have to play around with them to get nice result.

Greets and thanks,
Thomas

Sad as it is, this sort of stuff can be found all around the world, not just the the US. It is an indicator that people are unsettled and feel threatened.
Also sad is the fact that this sort of stuff is likely to get worse as people lay blame for what are forced culture changes bought about by policital and economic failings.
Expect it to get really serious with climate change.

Hi Thomas,

Well that is a surprise. Great to see this article. It should have been on TYPO3.org. We'll have some good chance to do independent uncensored journalism next to the official TYPO3 news. Did you know I am already doing the news section for CRG?

I immediately 'stole' your article. I hope we can get some TYPO3 blogs together.

Thomas,

First I want to thank you and the Commerce team for all the hard work. Developing commerce software is difficult as you know. We appreciate your efforts.

We are currently using Miva Merchant for our church online store (yes, I know it seems funny for a church to have an online store). See http://www.ginghamsburgglobal.org if you are curious. However, we'd like to switch to Commerce when it is ready because we want to be 100% TYPO3 and because it sounds like the Commerce development team is doing a professional job of development. Maybe we can be one of your early installations in the United States.

I am also the leader of Web-Empowered Church (http://webempoweredchurch.com) which is building TYPO3 extensions and promoting the use of TYPO3 in churches around the world. So, for those churches that would like to have a online store (even if it is just to pay for events and to sell a few books) my hope is that we can point them to Commerce as well.

If you need any help proof reading English documents or testing early versions of Commerce, then please contact me. We are part of the TYPO3 community and want to help as we are able.

Thanks Again!
Mark Stephenson

yes i totally agree..

it's more than 10 years now that i "push forward" several non-profit/volunteer projects (outside of internet!), and somethimes it's hard to keep going strong and happy without positive feedbacks!

here in TYPO3, i get much "energy" from the whole project developments. i know many people are doing what they can, and for good reasons. i only hope that all that big money running since the Association won't corrupt the spirit of the project.
i have trust in Kasper, anyway. even if i'm not Christian Catholic, i think that the "christian" values and motivation that Kasper put into TYPO3 are the one that grab my attention.

well, now got to go back to work..

Hi Thomas,

right now, I'm just finishing work on my first TYPO3-powered website, so I've been browsing the web for all kinds of TYPO3-related info in the last few weeks.
I was led to your site when I checked out Google for an editor with TypoScript syntax highlighting, and found the 'TypoScript Highlighting for Kate' entries.

Besides, I remember I've had a short look at it when checking the links on the 'TYPO3 Hilfsquellen und Links' page of the latest T3N magazine issue.

Gravatar: Thomas

Hi Martin,
don't think so. All the dates where releated to the T3BOARD06. The point is, that 4.0 is a bit too late. ;-)
Anyhow, In my opinion it would be better to wait with the release of a new design until it works. I mean, TYPO3.org is a kind of business card for the project and should work all over the place. Now they have to do a lot of hotfixing on a running system.

Greets,
Thomas

I think it is essential for a developper ressource, that everything works fine. Maybe they are still working on updating the site.... so we should wait before criticizing it.

#136: Thomas commented on Wednesday, 15-02-06 12:42

Hi Sebastian,
why not? I think criticizing is helpful. I don't said that the page is crap or something like that. All I mentioned was a point that came to my mind immediately when I saw the page.
I know that they are currently working on the page, and that is good. All I said, was that it would have been better to wait until the biggest glitches where fixed. Nothing more, nothing less. :-)

Thomas

Hi Claus,

on yeebase's website, there are a few articles (but in german only, unfortunately) on how TYPO3 is used to make the T3N mag.
Check out http://www.yeebase.com/verlag/technologie/.

In the first issue of T3N, there was an interview with the mag's founders, in which they were asked if they considered international versions, i-e. in english, french or russian; they answered it might be an interesting task and that they are aware to reach only a very limited part of people that are interested in the mag, but they simply lack time and manpower to do international versions, as they are only three guys, having enough to do with making the german version...

Apart from that, I'm very much looking forward to the next issue; just yesterday, I subscribed for one year...
