Shocked faces at the Developer Days keynote yesterday. After an overview about the history and present of TYPO3, Kasper announced that he will not longer be part of the TYPO3 developement. If I got him right he aims for new goals and find new opportunities. And of course live his life as a father.
Well, how it should go on with TYPO3? I don't worry about that. We have a strong team that developes the 4.X branch and a very creative 5.0 team. Two new kings that did a great job since years. Michael Stucki and Robert Lemke. And not to forget our strong community that organizes itself very well.
I fully understand the motivations to make this step. I'm pretty sure that this was not the last thing we heard from Kasper. After some talks yesterday I see this as chance and not as bad news.
So let's see what's going today and how we can make TYPO3 better every day!

I very much respect his decision. The courage to let go of something he has created will make it easier for him as a father when Amelie grows older ;-)
TYPO3 has so much momentum, it will prosper without him.

In 2003 that would had been a very bad news. Today, no problem at all. I'm fully confident in TYPO3 future. Go Teams !
