[page] Now I know why I am coder and not a designer

Epic fail on my attempts to get a new minimalistic design for this page. No really! I'm not made for designing stuff. Everything is start ends up with some cruel looking crap that hurts your eyes. Or it looks like the first webpage in the internet.

It seems that I don't even have the smallest portion of feeling for good color selection, alignment of things and all the little details that make a website look interesting and unique. So what is the solution? I can't pay anyone for making me a good design that is not taken from a bunch of stock designs.

On the other hand I don't want a default skin from [insert blogging system of your choice]. Some might have the fantastic idea to get a free template somewhere and tweak it until it looks like the wanted result but do you remember what I said about my design skills?

As I see it, you have to live with the current design until someone creates a new one on a voluntary basis. ^^ Sorry to tell you that, but that's the situation. :-/

Greets,
Thomas

Thomas, You could cheat : )

I hate using the default skins too, why don't you try one of the free ones and change the CSS to fit your color scheme?

TYPO3 Templates (you probably know this wiki page)

non-TYPO3 designs (a little more work)

Of course if you want to email me the template you have started on I can mess with it and see where it goes, of course I am not much of a designer either : )

Cheers!
