The eagle has landed!

Hello,

as I promised this morning, I've uploaded the nearly finished next version of the extended table! :)

For all of you, who don't read the last posts I describe the bigger changes here once again:

A lot has changed since last official release (version 1.0.x).

From now on, the extension has template support. That means, that the administrator can predefine a table via a xml file. I posted the format definitions some days ago. To be honest I don't implemented all the stuff I've described in the document but almost... ;) Some examples for predefining tables are fixed headers and footers. You can define as many rows and columns as you want for the header and can "tell" the table extension that these are rows are fixed. So they can't be changed in any way. But not that's not all. You can set some attributes for cells, rows, groups and the whole table. I call that fixed attributes. That means, that these attributes have a value that can't be changed by the user.

Another great thing is alternating of templates. That means that you have to define only two columns in the template, and all rows in the section will have the same format as the two rows you've defined. That could be useful for making big tables better readable for the visitors of your page. This is only an example! You can define as many rows as you want and they will alternate... :)

The wizard support "rowgroups" now. So you can assign a row to a group like "thead", "tbody" or "tfoot". That was neccessary because the templates are using these groups.

I know that this is a little bit confusing if you hear it the first time. I will see that I write a good and comprehensible manual, what will be a really hard job. ;)

This is not the RC because I will implement two more new features until final version, so this is "only" a new pre-release. You ask what the two new features are? You will see... ;)

In the "files" section you will find some screenshots of the version you can download here.

So far,

Thomas

P.S.: Thanks Martin for this incredible tribute! ;)
