Hello,

time for a short info what is going on inside the commerce developement team. First of all, we have an alomost working system! :-D But there are still a lot of things to do before we can release a preview version. The thing is, that we work with real money and so we want to be absolutely sure that everything in the payment handling works as it should. We hope you understand that. Even if it is open source we want to provide good quality code.

For reaching this goal we'll come together for two days in Düsseldorf in mid February. There we will clean up the code and organize the next steps to get a clean code base. Some minor things are still in developement. Things like payment modules and special things for customers. I can't promise that everything that is developed until now will be available from the first day on, but there is a lot of stuff on the horizon. ;-) Another great part we have to do before we can release something is a proper documentation. Currently we have only a special end user documentation. Most things are only documented inside the sourec code. Especially he things for developers and administrators.

The next days we will migrate our CVS repository to subversion! CVS is not very elegant in many cases...

Last but not least, in the next T3N magazin you will find a short story about commerce. :-) A big report will come in item #4.

I hope this is enough information for now. :-)

Greets and a nice day,

Thomas
