Problems with beta3

By: Thomas

Hello,

today i tried to set up TYPO3 4.0 beta3. It works basically but I have a big problem with the extension manager. It doesn't show up when I click on the icon in the module frame. The server provides me an empty file for download. PHP crashes when I call the EM.

I just opened a bug for this. If anyone of you have this problems too, fell free to post any comments to the bugtracker. :-) You can find the post at http://bugs.typo3.org/view.php?id=2795.

Greets,

Thomas

1. coose settings (Extention Manager)
2. save (You don't have to change anything)
3. Import extentions -> Retrive/Update
4. Connect! (It'll work)

You can enable "Enable unsupported extensions" in the settings for finding all extentions.

Hi Sebastian,
thanks for your answer, but it has nothing to do with my problem. :-/ The EM don't appear at all when I click on the icon. ;-)

Greets,
Thomas

As I said, I am guessing it has to do with your underlying system. Might want to try and split the server, so you don't interrupt the live system. Your virtual host should load a newer (maybe self-compiled) php?! *shrug*

I had exactly the same problem. It has to do with the underlying system.

I'm running TYPO3 on Windows with Apache. Apache crashed each time I tried to enter the Extension Manager, so I tried different versions of Apache... Didn't help. Then I tried different versions of MySQL... Didn't help.

Almost giving up, I tried downgrading the PHP version... and it worked!!! I downgraded the php-version from the newest version of 4.4 to the newest version of 4.3, which currently is 4.3.11. I have no idea why it helped, but something in my version of PHP 4.4 apparently went wrong when loading the Extension Manager.

Hi Martin M,
maybe it ould be helpful if you add this to the bug in the bugtracker. If you don't have an account, tell me and I add it by myself. :-)

BTW: I'm currently using PHP version 4.1.1.

Greets,
Thomas

I don't think I have an account, so please add it for me. Thank you!
