New record

Hi,

the amount of trackback spams has reached a new height. Since yesterday evening I got 18 (eighteen) new trackback spams. This more than one spam per hour. I just implemented a hook into timtab, so it would be possible to add spam blockers to the trackback routines. Ingo is looking at the "hooked" version and I hope he accept the changes, so I can try to implement a spam blocker.

To be honest, I already started such an implementation but it is much harder to do than I thought before. Most spamblockers are designed for wordpress which has a completely different architecture than TYPO3 extensions. Anyhow, I'm still trying to make it work. At least I have the problem, that I can't really check the implementation. This has one simple reason. I don't know any tool send trackback spam. ;-) If anybody out there, knows such a tool or a method to test such a spamblocker, please let me know at thomas(at)typo3-unleashed.net.

Until the spamblock-thingy works, I have to check the comments manually. :-/

Greets,

Thomas

hi Thomas!

yes spam and blogs is a good marriage for someone..
i never used typo3 for blogs (i prefer wordpress), but soon i'll need it to integrate a collective blog in a big website of mine.. maybe this summer..
then i'll come and help!

ps: you know that when i comment to a post of yours it takes really lot of time the server to respond? sometimes it doesn't even come back to the post page...

Hi Stefano,

I think I can't wait until summer (even if it's quite close). Maybe Ingo and me can make it work next week. We'll see.

I never recognized that the server slows down for sending a comment. Not at work (close to the server) and not at home... ^^

Greets,
Thomas

Hello,

maybe it would be some kind of idea to add a feature like blacklists. Spam Karma for Wordpress syncs with a fews blacklist-servers. Since I am using this, I do not have to check spam anymore.
Just a hint... Maybe you can use the WP blacklist-servers.
