Hello,
yesterday I had a small meeting with Volker Graubaum who is one of the commerce-devs. You may remember, that we announced commerce for mid of June!? Now we reached this date and so we decided to release a first beta version this weekend or at the beginning of the next week! I'm currently working on the last known bugs. Another point is that we'll create a quick-install-guide and write down a quick-reference for the TypoScript options. These are the basic documentation one needs to start working with commerce.
To be honest I have to say that commerce won't be final in this beta. For example the labels are not finished because we try to start with four languages. Anyhow, the system is usable and can be tested by more users than now. The exact terms and conditions will be published with the release.
Due to this release, I will publish version 0.9.10 of DynaFlex in the TER. The manual is not completely updated yet so it won't be a version 1.0.0. ;-)
Greets,
Thomas

Finally!
I can't wait for the weekend (and this time beer isn't the only reason...)!

Great!! I also do have a client waiting for the perfect shop...
I'm going to check out your amazon wishlist after the release.

wowowow
i am developing a big commerce with cs-cart (which is really fantastic!)
but i'll jump into typo3 commerce (bringing all "outer" experience) as soon as possible because i love typo3 and would like to develop a real OpenSource pro commerce

It's not funny anymore.
Weekend is throught and there is no TYPO3 commerce extension?
Is unreliability a typical TYPO3 'new projects' problem -> like ie. DAM...

I do not understand these people who are protesting, that you are realing commerce a bit later than scheduled...
Everyone should be more than thankful, that you are doing this! Your work is great and it does not matter to me, if you have to postpone the release!
I'm waiting for the release myself, because I have a waitung customer, but take it easy ;-)
Btw: I needed more than 3 times to read the spam protection ;-)

I am wondering, what "The exact terms and conditions will be published with the release." means..

This has got to be the understatement of the year...
As I wrote in the comments to the DynaFlex 1.0.0 release, I don't want to discredit the dev-team's work. But I'd rather have a "we don't know when it will be released" statement instead of "it will be released on day X" and on day X, nothing happens. Just my 2 cents.

Hello all,
I understand all your concerns about how the things went with this release. And I have to say that we didn't made it to finish an official beta. BUT! We decided to give away a current developement snapshot to everyone who is interested. Just write me an email to thomas@work.de and I will send you a package that contains commerce, a quick-install-guide and a short reference of the TypoScript options.
This version is totally without any support. This has two reasons. First, we know that their are still bugs in it. And we still working on an official release. We decided to bring you this version because we want to give you the possibilty to checkout out what is already there and what is not working correct. So if you find and bugs please write me at thomas@work.de. You *MUST NOT* send any mails about bugs in this pre-beta to the commerce-team email address.
We hope that you like what you read and that we get some feedback to make an official release happen as soon as possible.
Please do me a favour and don't publish any links to this comment.

Hallelujah!
I have been waiting patiently for over three months!
I have over 250 SMEs to roll the commerce extension out to, having a pre beta release will be great for me to work it out ready for the stable release!
excellent work,
Jamie

Fantastic! You really did a great job in promoting the project by delaying the release date. I mean, a lot of people are looking forward to a public beta and due to the "delay" they hopefully realised that building such a project isn't a simple task. I really admire your dedication and hope that our company can be useful in bug-fixing or further development.
