this weekend I do the final authoring for the T3CON06 DVDs. Unfortunately Mac OS can't demux the files I got from Fabrizio by an unknown reason. But for what do we have Linux? With transcode tools it's no problem to demux all the files. A simple shellscript do the annoying typing stuff and all I have to do is waiting.

A simple tcextract -i input.mp3g -x mpeg2 -d 1 > output.m2v does the job that Mac OS X isn't willing to do correctly. Well, I know that I can compile that tools for Mac OS too, but why should I do so when I have it ready with a simple apt-get install on my other machine. ;-)

I know that Linux is not known for being the first choice if it comes to multimedia applications but from my experiences, Linux is the best OS for such things. There are not too much things that can't be done when you want to recode or process media-files. It just works. ;-) I love it at least because it saves my day.
