Hello,

when I relaunched the page I promised to shortly round-up the changes I made here. So here we go. First thing is obvious. I changed the complete design of the page. The layout is nearly the same. There some things more or less here and there but basically it's the same structure.

The biggest change is the menu. I decided to but a more Web 2.0 kind of menu below the header. On the old page, that was all included on the left side. This horizontal menu forced me to remove some pages from the first level. Currently they are really gone, but they might appear somewhere on the second level the next time. I'm not sure about that. If none asks me about that pages I guess they are not so popular and I don't need to set them up again. I'm not sure if some of you recognized, that on the old page, there a menu on the right side of the page on some subpages. I decided to move them to the left menu because nobody expects a menu on the right side if the whole navigation is normally on the left side. You'll find all in the left menu and don't have to think about any deeper navigation somewhere else.

That brings me directly to the elements on the right hand. I added some Blog-tools there. I already mentioned two of them in my relaunch-entry but I want to list them up again. The first thing is the Calendar which shows you an overview over the current month with a link to the posts of a special day. Second one is the tagcloud and the third element is the "latest comments" box. I don't think that I need to explain one of these.

On the top right corner you'll find now some basic navigation stuff. Go to home, send me an email, subscribe the newsfeed, read something about and so on. Just try it or wait for the hover titles. ;-)

The two biggest changes are that I removed the search. I was never really happy with it and so I decided to remove it until I found a better solution. If someone has a brilliant idea, please let me know. The second change is, that the cookbook is no longer available in german! I decided to remove the german part, because I recognized that it keeped me away to add new items because of the time and effort it took to just add a simple entry there. Now I hope I will be more disciplined to add new cookbook stuff.
